The Lazarus Theatre Co. are continuing their residency at the wonderful Greenwich Theatre with their production of William Golding's dystopian Lord of the Flies. With a mixed male and female cast Lazarus have once again shown that they can put a unique twist on both classic and contemporary works and deliver a powerful message - which often has you on the edge of your seat.
After spending some time in early rehearsals, then watching as the show's choreography was perfected under the watchful eye of Julia Cave , I revisited them on the opening day for the final dress rehearsal to take their production images.
Here's the story in pictures:
Very early in the rehearsals I join the group for some text and warm up exercises at Rothbury Hall, Greenwich
Lazarus warm up sessions are legendary - with tasks to test and build trust amongst the cast
The following week the company move to larger rehearsals at Selladoor in Deptford for some serious choreography sessions
With imaginary spears, this can only be Lord of the Flies ....
Finally the time has arrived to see the production... it's a visual treat - here's a few of my favourite production images....
Lazarus Theatre's Lord of the flies - to 24 March 2018 at The Greenwich Theatre, London.
