At the beginning of 2020 I was looking forward to some exciting assignments with a number of my regular theatre clients. As dates were confirmed in the calendar for promotional and production shoots in London and shoots further afield for touring theatre it was shaping up to be a year to remember. Sadly, due to the restrictions imposed when Covid 19 arrived, everything was put on hold or cancelled.
The UK's theatre scene is resilient though and I sincerely hope we will all be back, stronger than ever, working as normal again, as soon as possible. In the meantime, like many a small business working predominantly with events (I also enjoy working with wedding clients - many of them from the theatre industry) I am now spending much of the working day at my desk.
Organising the archive from past 10 years has been my first job and as each client's back catalogue takes shape I will be selecting some of their highlights and publishing them in articles on this website.
These will include specific posts showing some of my favourite productions - from Shakespeare comedies to Greek tragedies by way of a few musicals and contemporary plays.
For now here's a few images from my last shoot before lockdown (taken mid March 2020) which was an early rehearsal for Lazarus Theatre Co's Production of Ibsen's Hedda Gabler to be adapted and directed by Sara Reimers. The rehearsals were in Deptford, East London. The actual Production of Hedda Gabler was due to take place at the Greenwich Theatre the following month and unfortunately was one of the first casualties of the lockdown... the rehearsals I attended showed a great deal of passion and promise and will be one to look out for when we get to the other side - I'll be there and I can't wait to get back to working with all the tremendous people I know and respect.
